Viagra Side Effects
Viagra's main active ingredient is Sildenafil Citrate, and it was
approved by the FDA in 1998 for the treatment of impotence in men.
Common Viagra Side Effects
Abnormal vision (blurring, color tinge, sensitivity to light), nasal congestion,
urinary tract infection, acid indigestion, diarrhea, flushing, headache.
It is quite possible for side effects other than those listed here to occur.

a healthcare provider.
Special Viagra Warnings
Viagra has not been fully studied in patients who have had a history of Heart
attack, stroke, or life-threatening irregular heart rhythm within the last
6 months.
Additionally Viagra has not been fully studied in patients who have had a
history of very low and very high blood pressure, heart failure or unstable
chest pain as well as certain eye disorders.
Heart irregularities, heart attack, stroke, dangerous surges in blood pressure,
and sudden death have all been reported after use of Viagra, usually in men
with existing cardiac risk factors, and typically during or shortly after
sex.
In some instances, Viagra can cause a rare but serious condition of prolonged
erection (priapism). It is important for the affected individual to contact
their health care provider immediately if their erection lasts longer than
4 hours.
Individuals should not take Viagra if they are taking any nitrate-based drug,
including nitroglycerin patches (Nitro-Dur, Transderm-Nitro), nitroglycerin
ointment (Nitro-Bid, Nitrol), nitroglycerin pills (Nitro-Bid, Nitrostat),
and isosorbide pills (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate). Combining Viagra
with these drugs may cause a severe drop in blood pressure.
Noteworthy
Viagra offers no protection from transmission of sexually transmitted diseases
such as HIV (the virus that causes AIDS). Additionally, this drug is not for
use by women.
